Ever wondered what it’s like to work in digital advertising? Grab your coffee, put on some music (currently on repeat: Birds of a Feather, Billie Eilish), and come hang out with me and my assistant Watson (🐾 paid in treats), as I walk you through a day in my life at CrowdSouth!
8:00 AM – Email and Client Page Checks
I start each day by checking my email and then go on to review client pages for any new notifications. Staying active on client accounts is a daily part of my job, and engaging with the community and responding to comments, shares, and messages is a significant aspect of that. Timely responses help build trust and show followers that their voices are being heard.

9:00 AM – Task Review & Daily Planning
At this point, I check my email again and answer any outstanding emails. My next stop: Asana, our team’s project management tool. I check what’s been assigned to me, review deadlines, and plan out what I’m tackling first. I like having a clear plan before diving in!
✅ Pro Tip: I love how Asana keeps everything organized and helps me stay on track. With no two days looking the same, having one central place for tasks and timelines makes a huge difference.
9:30 AM – Technical Issue
Discovered some of our clients got disconnected from our scheduling software, Sprout Social, so spent some time this morning getting things rescheduled and back in business!
✅ Pro Tip: With multiple clients and platforms to juggle, Sprout allows us to have a centralized dashboard for scheduling posts and tracking performance.
10:00 AM – Daily Grind
Once I’ve got my daily plan in place, I get into the work zone. Tasks can vary a lot day-to-day, but they often include:
- Client requests
- Like, “Hey, we went to this event—can you share these photos?”
- Campaign creation
- From hiring ads to service promotions, there’s always a new campaign in the works.
- Organic content calendars
- We build out client calendars one month in advance.
- Design work
- Creating graphics for campaigns or organic social calendars- usually in Canva!
Every day is a mix, which keeps things interesting.
11:15 AM – Team Meeting
We have a team meeting every Monday to recap our weekends and discuss the upcoming week!
12:00 PM – Brainstorming Calendars
For one of our organic social clients, it’s time to start thinking ahead on their monthly content calendar. Brainstorming includes:
- Monthly theme ideas, things the client might want to highlight
- Competitor content for inspiration
- Trends in their industry
- Content gaps: Is there anything new we haven’t tried yet?
I start brainstorming content in a notebook and then go to Canva and Sprout to build it out with graphics, captions, and dates.

1:30 PM – Break Time
A walk around the block with my dog intern, Watson, is a must. Clear mind = better ideas.

2:30 PM – Back to Work!
Back to my asana tasks, including any new things that came in while I was out on lunch!
- client pop-ups
- Event graphics
- Meta campaign performance issues (like a rejected ad)
Adaptability is important in any social media role, and I always leave some buffer time in the afternoon for this reason.
Also, our digital team currently has our childhood photos as profile pictures in Asana, and I absolutely love it.

3:30 PM – Snack Time
A very important part of the day, do not skip!
Favorite snacks currently include:
- Perfect Bar
- Girl Dinner
- Cape Cod chips
- Watermelon
- Popcorn

4:00 PM – Wrapping It Up!
Just like I started, I close the day out by:
- Reviewing notifications and engagements on client pages
- Making notes for tomorrow’s to-do list
- Updating Asana and closing out any finished tasks
Every day looks a little different, and that’s what makes working at CrowdSouth exciting! From building content calendars to last-minute pivots, it’s never boring! I hope you enjoyed following along with me. I’m off to my passion project: running a needlepoint club. #AskMeAboutMyNeedlepoint
